Curaçao is like ice cream; why only have one scoop when you can have two!? So why stick to one island when there are (you guessed it) TWO! Klein Curaçao is a wonderful addition to the already gorgeous Curaçao. It is a small, uninhabited island on the south-east coast of Curaçao, so it’s very easy to reach by boat. We went with Miss Ann Boattrips, I definitely recommend going with them! Their staff is very friendly and helpful, not to mention they care for food on the Klein Curaçao as well! If you’re looking for something a bit more exclusive while on Curaçao, this is the perfect quick getaway.
Now I must say, getting there was quite the trip. As you rock into the waves constantly it’s common to get seasick and feel dizzy. We were told to set our eyes on the horizon to make this feeling go away, although it helped a little, I couldn’t wait to get off ASAP! Anyway, here’s why I love Klein Curaçao…
Since Klein Curaçao is uninhabited you probably won’t find more people on the island than the ones who joined you on the boat. Hello exclusive beach! I fell in love with the peace and tranquility. There isn’t much on land but an old lighthouse and a shipwreck, which are both very awesome to discover. But what made my heart melt a little was the underwater life. The chance of spotting sea turtles is very high and I was lucky to swim above one after desperately searching them. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take any pics of this.
Returning to Curaçao was a different story (thank God). No rocking into the waves, no sea sickness, just smoothly soaring the ocean while sunbathing on deck, ahhh… If this is what ‘rich people life’ is like, sign me up!
I’m ready to book my next trip to Klein Curaçao, and obviously bring my underwater phonecase. Can’t wait! Have you ever been to Klein Curaçao? Let me know in the comments, I’m curious for your experience!
