If there is one thing I found really remarkable during my trip to Bonaire, it was that everything was so pink. The entire airport is pink, lots of houses are pink, there are pink flamingo’s everywhere and oh, there’s even a part where the freaking SEA is pink (!!!)
One of my reasons for visiting Bonaire has actually been the pink lakes. Years ago I saw a picture of it and I knew I had to put it on my bucket list. And it was definitely an incredible sight. The water is turned pink because of the amount of salt it contains, how awesome? Now, because of the high amount of salt, the salt pans are right next to it. From a distance it looks like hills that are covered in snow, but it’s really an entire hill of salt!
Let these pictures show how pinkish and flamingo-themed Bonaire really is…

How cute is this airport!?

Spotted the first flamingo

Amazing contrast of how pink the lake really is

The salt pans in sight

At some places the lakes weren’t so pink but more brownish. Look how much the salt looks just like foam. Oh, and it feels super weird too!

Set of flamingo’s granting me a perfect shot of them

Happy license plate
